France scrum-half Antoine Dupont has been voted 2020 Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship.

The first Frenchman to win the award received 46% of votes submitted by fans in recognition of his creative brilliance in a tournament that saw a resurgence from Les Bleus.

The 23-year-old racked up a tournament-high 12 offloads and made 249 metres with ball in hand - more than any other scrumhalf in the competition.

He also scored a try in last Saturday's 35-27 French victory over Ireland in Paris.

Ireland's CJ Stander had been among the players shortlisted for the award, alongside Dupont's team-mates Gregory Alldritt and Romain Ntamack, as well as England duo Maro Itoje and Ben Youngs.

The inaugural women's Six Nations player of the championship award was won by England centre Emily Scarratt.
