Connacht rugby announced this evening that an academy player has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating. 

The club have said that the player is asymptomatic and had been established as a close contact of another positive case. He has been self-isolating since Wednesday. 

Another academy player was identified as a close contact of the player and is currently self-isolating but all other PCR tests carried out on Connacht players returned negative results and the team returned to training as normal on Tuesday. 

Connacht, who have won one and lost one of their first two games of the 2020-21 Guinness Pro14 season travel to Murrayfield to play Edinburgh on Sunday evening.
