Munster called off training at their high performance centre on Thursday afternoon as they awaited the full results of yesterday's round of Covid-19 testing.
A player returned a positive result for the virus on Tuesday.
The individual - who was not part of the travelling group for the Guinness Pro14 clash with Scarlets in Wales last weekend - and six other players identified by Munster as potential close contacts, are currently self-isolating.
Munster said they will provide a further update once the full results of the latest round of testing are received.
The squad are expected to meet up for their captain’s run on Friday ahead of Saturday night's meeting with Edinburgh at Thomond Park.
