Connacht survived an early red card for Peter Robb to win 29-19 against the Southern Kings in the Pro14 this afternoon.

Colby Fainga'a and Tiernan O'Halloran scored tries in the first six minutes as the visitors to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium looked set for a comfortable day.

But the controversial red card for Robb made life difficult and when Kyle Goodwin was sin-binned, Stefan Ungerer and Erich Cronje touched down for the South African side.

Jack Carty's boot made it 17-14 at the break and he nipped in for a try in the corner in the 47th minute.

A penalty try in the 71st minute secured a bonus-point win for the westerners.
