Connacht have announced contract extensions for five of their squad ahead of the 2020-21 season.

Centres Tom Daly and Peter Robb are among the quintet alongside hooker Shane Delahunt and props Dominic Robertson-McCoy and Conor Kenny.

Connacht head coach Andy Friend commented that it is the first batch of a number of contract announcements ahead of next season.

"We are delighted to have Tom Daly, Peter Robb, Dominic Robertson-McCoy, Shane Delahunt and Conor Kenny all signing contract extensions with Connacht," he said.

"During our Champions Cup and PRO14 campaigns we have already seen the depth we need in the squad to perform on two fronts.

"We expect to have more announcements in the coming weeks as we are working to finalise our squad going into the 2020/21 season".

The province return to action in the Guinness Pro14 against Cardiff Blues on Saturday 15 February.

Connacht are currently fourth in Conference B, one point clear of the Welsh side with the fixture all important in the race for Heineken Champions Cup qualification places.
