Leinster senior coach Stuart Lancaster says he has heard nothing in relation to a potential return to France for out-half Johnny Sexton.
The 34-year-old is currently fighting to be fit for the Six Nations after suffering a ligament injury in the Heineken Champions Cup victory over Northampton at Franklin's Gardens last Saturday week, but has been linked with a big money move to Lyon.
Sexton spent two seasons with Racing 92 before returning to Leinster in 2015, and the Irish Times has reported that the 2018 World Player of the Year turned down a lucrative two-year offer from the Top 14 club.
Sexton still has another year to run on his current IRFU deal, and speaking today, Lancaster says as far as he is concerned, the out-half is firmly focused on province and country.
"Certainly nothing from our end," he responded when asked if he knew anything of a potential move to France.
"Johnny is contracted to Leinster and Ireland until 2021 and the only conversation I have had with Johnny is how he can get better, how Leinster can get better and how he can play for Ireland."
Lancaster wasn’t able to provide any more of an update to Sexton’s injury – "it’s still early stages in his rehab" – but was pleased with the team’s comprehensive defeat of Northampton at the weekend.
The 2018 Champions Cup winners lead the way in Pool 1 after putting 93 points on the Saints in the back-to-back fixtures, and while says the video review session did highlight areas that need to be tweaked, he was very happy with the overall performance.
"To deliver such a good defence to defend so well against such a good attacking team and then to transition that defence into attack and score tries was very pleasing.
"Our job is done and we turn the page."
