Tadhg Beirne has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract that will keep him at Munster until the summer of 2022.
The 27-year-old Ireland lock joined Munster on a two-year deal last year from Scarlets. He proved an instant hit, turning in several terrific performances for Johann van Gran's men.
Beirne topped the turnover charts in the Heineken Champions Cup with 15, and made his Six Nations debut against Wales in March.
Munster have also confirmed that Academy scrum-half Craig Casey will be given a development contract at the start of next season, moving to a full contract at the beginning of the 2020-21 season.
The promising No 9 played a key role in the Ireland Under-20s Grand Slam-winning campaign, starting in the ins over France, Italy and England, and bagging two tries.
