Former Ireland Women’s head coach Philip 'Goose' Doyle has taken the reins at Scotland.
Doyle had two hugely successful stints with Ireland, winning a Grand Slam in his second spell in 2013 and masterminding a memorable win against New Zealand at the following year's World Cup in France.
His team bowed out in the semi-finals against eventual winners England.
Doyle has since had roles with Ulster Women and Blackrock College RFC. He takes over from ex-Glasgow Warriors assistant coach Shade Munro who led the Scots for four years.
"I'm very excited to take on this appointment and look forward to getting stuck in and getting to know the Scottish players," he said.
"We don’t have long in real terms until the World Cup qualification process begins but I am confident that with some hard work we will have sufficient time to develop further in working towards this objective."
