In the end, Leinster were just too good for Toulouse in Sunday's Heineken Champions Cup semi-final, with Bernard Jackman confidently predicting that they can up it another level against Saracens in the final.

Leo Cullen's side ran out 30-12 winners at the Aviva Stadium.

The returning Johnny Sexton bagged the man-of-the-match award as he chipped in with 12 points, while James Lowe, Luke McGrath and Scott Fardy getting over for tries.

Assessing the performance, Jackman, who spent five seasons as a Leinster player told RTÉ Radio's Sunday Sport: "It was a really clinical display by Leinster and they've shown a real statement of intent in how they played that game.

"Having watched Leinster today and knowing that there's another step in them, I think it will be a very evenly contested final."

However, Jackman felt that Toulouse's approach helped the four-time winners of the competition.

"When they and the coaching staff review the game they will know they were too conservative," he added.

"They were taking points when they were two scores behind.

"Their back line didn't look like it was balanced with Dupont at number 10. They definitely looked better with Maxime Médard at 15 and Duponmt back at 9 and Ntamack at 10 where he played most of the season.

"Look, Leinster didn't really give them many entry points into the game."

Fellow analyst Fiona Stead believes the lack of intensity that Toulouse wasn't ideal prep ahead of the final in three weeks' time.

"I don't think Toulouse overly threatened. They were put under a huge amount of pressure from Leinster particularly when they were on their own line and it went to the maul numerous times - they got no change from it.

"I still think Leinster will have to up their game defensively going into the final because they weren't put under a huge a mount of pressure today."
