Scotland 5-22 Ireland

Ireland got their Six Nations campaign back on track when they recorded a comprehensive 22-5 victory over Scotland in Scotstoun.

The visitors were dominant from the start and an Aoife McDermott try gave them an early lead.

However they allowed Scotland back into it when Hannah Smith looped around the back of the scrum and glided over the line to level the game.

Ireland still dominated possession and just before the break they were rewarded for their hard work when Leah Lyons crashed over to give the visitors a 10-5 lead at half-time.

In the second half Ireland upped the tempo and when Ali Miller slid over the line for their third try, they looked to be on the home straight.

Anna Caplice added a fourth for the visitors and Nicole Fowley kicked the conversion to put them 22-5 ahead.

From there Adam Griggs’ side closed it out to earn their first win of the Six Nations. They face Italy in their next game later in the month.
