Scotland 5-24 Ireland
Ireland's Under-20s made it two Six Nations wins from two with an impressive dismissal of Scotland on Friday night.
In tough conditions, Noel McNamara's men showed discipline, maturity and a cutting edge to follow up last week's win against England with another success.
The wind howled at Galashiels but Ireland made a good start and grew stronger.
Harry Byrne's penalty inside ten minutes was embellished by Dylan Tierney-Martin sniping off a five-metre scrum in the 26th minute following good work from David Hawkshaw and John Hodnett.
Byrne converted that try and Ireland headed for half-time 10-0 up.
Having had the wind behind them Ireland would have been braced for a real scrap on the turnaround but they weathered the storm excellently, and when Hodnett dove over from close range on the hour, with Byrne again adding the extras, victory look assured.
Connor Boyle replied for the hosts in the last ten minutes, but it was a mere consolation as Jonathan Wren skated through from the halfway line for a terrific closing try and Byrne split the posts.
