Robbie Henshaw was a significant absentee from Ireland training this morning at Carton House, hours before Joe Schmidt names his team (1.45pm) for Saturday's Guinness Six Nations clash with Scotland.

Having lost Garry Ringrose to injury earlier in the week, Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt is likely to turn to Munster centre Chris Farrell, with Rob Kearney slotting in at full-back.

Henshaw was a surprise choice at 15 in the defeat to England but Ringrose's absence made a return to the more familiar midfield likely for the Leinster man, who has seemingly joined a lengthening Ireland injury list.

CJ Stander and Devin Toner had already been ruled out of the trip to Murrayfield in the wake of Saturday's attritional defeat to England.
