The Ireland Women’s Sevens team claimed their highest ever finish in a World Series after taking fourth place in Sydney.
Despite suffering defeats to Australia in the semi-final and the USA in the bronze final, Ireland still clinched a top-four spot for the first time. They also finished as the top European side in this competition.
After defeating Spain to book their spot in the semi-finals on Saturday, Ireland lost out to hosts Australia 24-12 in the semis last night.

That put them into the Bronze final where Ireland were unfortunate to come up short again, losing by 16 points to USA.
Ireland's superb run in the tournament also resulted in star players Lucy Mulhall and Eve Higgins getting selected on the Dream Team.
