Ireland Women topped their pool on the opening day of the Sydney 7s to set up a quarter-final with Spain tomorrow.
Victories over Canada and Fiji, and a draw with Russia were enough for a first-ever top spot for the Irish.
Eve Higgins and Louise Galvin were among the top-rated impact players on the opening day.
Ireland will take on Spain in the early hours of Saturday morning.
