Ian Keatley will leave Munster at the end of the current season after a hugely successful eight years, the province have confirmed.

Keatley, who joined Munster from Connacht prior to the start of the 2011/12 campaign, will leave the province for Italian Pro14 side Benetton Rugby.

The 31-year-old out-half is second only to Ronan O'Gara as Munster's all-time point scorer and he will hope to add to his 1,247 points total before the end of the season.

Keatley has 180 Munster appearances to date but has found his time limited this season, making just four appearances - all from the bench - in this season's Pro14.
