Leinster's James Lowe has been banned for two weeks as a result of the red card that the winger picked up in the recent clash with Munster.
The New Zealander was sent off in the 26-17 defeat at Thomond Park for taking out Andrew Conway in the air in what proved a bad-tempered affair last week in Limerick.
A disciplinary hearing took place in Wales and the player accepted, via video conference, that 'he had committed an act of foul play and that his actions warranted a red card', according to a statement released by the Guinness Pro 14 League.
The red card warranted a four-week ban, according to the disciplinary committee, however, that was subsequently reduced to two weeks as a result of Lowe's clean disciplinary record.
Lowe will now miss Leinster's upcoming league clash with Ulster, and is also ruled out of his side's vital European Champions Cup clash with Toulouse on 12 January.
"James Lowe of Leinster Rugby faced a Disciplinary Hearing today via video conference and has been banned for two weeks," read the statement.
"The player was shown a red card by referee Frank Murphy under Law 9.17 – A player must not tackle, charge, pull, push or grasp an opponent whose feet are off the ground.
"The incident occurred in the 32nd minute of the Guinness PRO14 Round 12 Fixture at Thomond Park where the referee deemed the player to have committed an act of foul play against an opponent (No 14, Andrew Conway).
"The player accepted that he had committed an act of foul play and that his actions warranted a red card.
"The Committee deemed the act warranted a low-end entry point of four weeks, which was reduced by 50 per cent due to the player’s clean disciplinary record and the conduct of the player and his club throughout the process.
"The player was reminded of his right to appeal."
