New Zealand captain Kieran Read admitted that Ireland were 'too good' for the All-Blacks as Joe Scmidt's side claimed their first ever win over their opponents on home soil.
Ireland ran out 16-9 winners in a thrilling encounter, as Jacob Stockdale’s stunning second-half try proved to the difference between the two sides.
Scmidt’s men had to weather a late storm as New Zealand pushed for the score that would level the game but they held firm and became the first Northern Hemisphere country to keep the All-Blacks tryless since France in 1995.
Afterwards, Read paid tribute to the home side and speaking to RTÉ Sport admitted that he could have no complaints about the result.
"Everyone just threw everything at it, I think all 23 players of both teams, and the Irish we just too good for us tonight so full credit to them," he said.
"We’ve just got to take those lessons. They took their opportunities, so you’ve got to give them credit for doing that.
"They defended really well, we actually couldn’t really break them down tonight so we’ll learn from that.
"We still had belief in ourselves to try and get across the line but it wasn’t to be, so give them the credit."
