Tommy O'Donnell will today learn just how bad the damage is to his ankle after he was forced out of the Heineken Champions Cup defeat of Gloucester, but Keith Earls could be set for a swift Munster return.
O'Donnell was carted off just before the break in Munster's 36-22 win at Thomond Park on Saturday. It was feared he'd broken his leg but the damage is to his left ankle.
Arno Botha replaced O’Donnell and then injured his hand. The South African will also have a scan today.
Rhys Marshall and Dan Goggin also both limped out of the game. Marshall went off with a hamstring problem and will undergo a scan today while Goggin suffered a knee injury will be seen by a specialist tomorrow.
Earls missed the European victory with a hamstring issue but he'll be reintroduced to team training this week and could figure in the Pro14 clash against Glasgow Warriors at Thomond on Saturday evening [5.15pm].
Niall Scannell injured his ankle in training last week and will continue treatment with the medical department. Jaco Taute meanwhile is being managed by the medical department for bruising on the knee.
