Connacht prop Dominic Robertson-McCoy has been handed a six-week ban for stamping on Leinster's Josh van der Flier in last week's Guinness Pro14 clash at the Sportsground.

Referee John Lacey had issued the New Zealander with a red card for the incident, and after admitting his guilt, the 24-year-old was given an initial 12-week ban.

However, the disciplinary committee led by Kathrine Mackie halved the duration of his suspension as a result of his admittance of guilt and previously clean record.

He will be free to play on 18 November and has the right to appeal.
