Ireland internationals Rory Best and Jacob Stockdale have returned to full training with Ulster and could feature against Connacht on 5 October.

Hooker Best, the Ireland and Ulster captain, is recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the summer tour to Australia, while winger Stockdale also injured his hamstring in pre-season.

John Cooney, meanwhile, has recovered from the scalp laceration he sustained against Southern Kings and is available for selection for Saturday's Guinness Pro14 game against Munster (Thomond Park, 7.35pm).

Craig Gilroy (abdominal muscle) and Will Addison (back spasm) picked up injuries last week and will continue to be assessed through the week.

Marcell Coetzee (shoulder), Wiehahn Herbst (groin), Rob Herring (toe), Sean Reidy (hamstring) and Henry Speight (knee) sustained injuries during the game versus Cheetahs on Friday and are unavailable for this weekend.
