Keith Earls should finally make his Munster return for this week's Pro14 derby against Ulster after shaking off the knock that ruled him out of the trip to Cardiff Blues.

Earls was expected to feature in Wales on Friday night but suffered a setback in training.

He has yet to play this season having taken an extended summer break after a long campaign with his province and country, but the 30-year-old is in good shape and on track to play a part in Saturday night's clash at Thomond Park.

Johann van Graan's side were humbled at Cardiff Arms park but, at least, only their pride was damaged. They have no fresh injury concerns following the defeat.

In more positive news on the injury front, Billy Holland, Kevin O’Byrne and Niall Scannell all return to training this week.
