CJ Stander will make his first appearance of the season against the Cardiff Blues in the Guinness Pro14 on Friday night (kick-off 7.35pm) with Munster head coach Johann van Graan making half a dozen team changes.
JJ Hanrahan, Jaco Taute, Rory Scannell, hooker Mike Sherry and second row Jean Kleyn all come into the team on the back of last week’s victory over Ospreys.
Stander will join a backrow that includes captain Peter O’Mahony and Chris Cloete.
Hanrahan comes into the side at full-back with Andrew Conway and Darren Sweetnam named on the wings, while there is an all-changed centre partnership with South African Taute making his first start since returning from injury alongside Scannell.
James Cronin and Stephen Archer pack down in the front row with Sherry and Kleyn joining Tadhg Beirne in the engine room.
Keith Earls and Rhys Marshall reported knocks during the week and were ruled out for selection.

Dan McFarland meanwhile has also made six changes to his Ulster team for Friday's clash against Toyota Cheetahs in Bloemfontein (6.15pm Irish time).
Academy pair Eric O'Sullivan and Angus Kernohan (above) are set to make their first Ulster starts after producing impressive performances off the bench in recent weeks, while tighthead prop Wiehahn Herbst, flanker Matthew Rea, scrum-half Dave Shanahan and full-back Will Addison, a late withdrawal from the team to face the Kings due to illness, are the other changes in personnel.
O'Sullivan and Herbst will pack down in the front row alongside skipper Rob Herring, while Alan O'Connor and Kieran Treadwell are retained in the second row.
The selection of Rea sees a slight re-shuffle in the back row, with Marcell Coetzee moving to number 8 and Sean Reidy retaining the number 7 jersey.
Shanahan comes in at scrum-half for John Cooney, who sustained a head injury in the win last week, and he will partner Billy Burns at half-back.
Henry Speight shifts from the wing to centre to play alongside Stuart McCloskey, so Kernohan, who scored his first senior try last week, gets an opportunity from the start.
Addison and Craig Gilroy complete the starting side.
