Former Ireland players Donnacha Ryan and Simon Zebo scored tries as Racing 92 claimed a facile win at home to Agen in the Top 14.

Lock Ryan went over in the fourth minutes and Zebo, a 45th-minute replacement for Teddy Thomas, touched down with just under 20 minutes to play in the 59-7 win.

Paddy Jackson kicked three penalties and a conversion in Perpignan’s 16-22 defeat to Lyon, while Paddy Butler helped Pau to a 24-21 away win at Grenoble, for whom former Munster hooker Duncan Casey appeared as a replacement for the last 30 minutes.

Paul O’Connell, forwards coach at Stade Francais, saw his team heavily beaten at Clermont, 42-20.

In England, Ian Madigan came on in the 51st minute during Bristol’s 44-23 loss at Saracens.

Geordan Murphy, the interim boss at Leicester, got his tenure off to a winning start with a 49-33 win over Newcastle.

London Irish sit top of the Championship with two wins from two, Declan Kidney overseeing a 52-20 win over Nottingham yesterday.
