Simon Zebo said an emotional goodbye to Munster after a narrow Pro14 semi-final defeat to Leinster at the RDS meant his Thomond Park days are now over.

The Corkman is Paris-bound in the summer, joining Racing 92 having agreed a move back in October.

Munster were desperate to bloody the nose of the newly crowned European champions but they were squeezed out by Leo Cullen's men, who deservedly teed up an Aviva Stadium decider against the Scarlets.

For Zebo, it was the end of an era. He will now head for France, and afterwards he saluted the club and the fans.

"Signing off with a heavy heart," he posted on his Instagram page.

"Thank you Munster Rugby for letting me fulfil my dreams in playing and representing our great club.

"Thank you to the players staff and supporters for accepting me for who I am and allowing me to be me. You will have a massive Munster fan in Paris. I hope it’s not the end just goodbye for now. Lots of love Zeebs x."
