Munster head coach Johann Van Graan hailed his side's maturity after their 25-16 away win against Leicester in Welford Road on Sunday afternoon.

The win leaves Munster in a strong position on top of Pool 4, four points clear of Racing 92.

Speaking to RTÉ Sport, the South African, who took control of his first game as Munster head coach less than a month ago, said that his team adapted well to the refereeing of Mathieu Raynal.

The hosts, by contrast, were left irate afterwards and conceded no fewer than 10 penalties in the opening half.

He said: "It was a mature performance. We didn't start the game well. But we weathered the storm. We adjusted well at half-time. And that was a very good second half performance under extreme pressure.

"(At half-time) We said 'Listen, this referee is totally different than what we had last week. Keep going with the maul. Leave the breakdown totally alone.

"And we've got to work harder for each other.'

"And that last line break showed it. All fifteen guys working back into our corner and defending our line with pride.

"The yellow card (to John Ryan) put us pressure but the composure and maturity of our team came through tonight.

"We'd have liked to have finished in their corner. All credit to all 23 guys involved. A lot of planning went into this one.

"Leicester are a quality side, especially at home. Very happy with the win but there's a long way to go in this competition."
