Munster will appoint South Africa assistant coach Johann van Graan to succeed Rassie Erasmus as Director of Rugby.
News broke yesterday that the province’s number one target Dave Wessels was set to stay in Australia and is expected to be appointed as new boss of Melbourne Rebels.
But Munster acted quickly and van Graan is expected to arrive at Thomond Park before the end of the year, according to reports in the Irish Times.
Erasmus is due to finish up with the province at the end of December, meaning his successor will have a chance alongside him.
Erasmus is moving in the opposite direction, taking over as Springboks’ director of rugby.
