Devin Toner signs new deal with the IRFU

Devin Toner has agreed a three-year contract with the Irish Rugby Football Union which will see him remain at Leinster until at least June 2020.

Toner made his senior debut for Leinster against the Border Reivers in January 2006 and has since made 187 appearances for Leinster.

The towering lock made his Ireland debut in the 20-10 win over Samoa in November 2010 and has won 42 caps for the national side and featured in the recent victories over New Zealand and Australia.

Toner was part of the RBS 6 Nations Championship sides of 2014 and 2015 and has collected three Heineken Cups, an Amlin Cup and three Pro12 league titles with Leinster. 

Commenting on his new contract, the Meath man said: "I am delighted to have resigned with the IRFU and Leinster. 

“There is a huge amount of talent coming through at Leinster and it is a really exciting time to be involved with the province. 

“There is a real opportunity to be successful at both provincial and national level over the coming years and I look forward to playing a part in helping to achieve that success.”
