The Connacht rugby team have been honoured by a civic reception in Galway following their Pro12 final triumph last season.
Connacht won their first ever Pro12 title with a thrilling 20-10 final victory over Leinster in June, following a stunning season that defied expectations.
Pat Lam’s men finished in their highest ever league position, qualified for their first ever major final and saw members of their squad break into the Ireland team.
The event was originally scheduled for October but was postponed as a mark of respect for the late Munster coach Anthony Foley.
Connacht head coach Pat Lam was on hand to represent his team at Galway City Hall and told RTÉ Sport that he was delighted to be honoured.
“It’s a massive honour to be recognised here by the city council,” he said.
“We’ve always said that what we do is all about our community and to be here tonight is nice.
“I know it’s been a while now but we appreciate being welcomed today and on behalf of all the people in Connacht Rugby, that’s what we’re here for.”
