Ireland score v Italy up for Try of the Year

Ireland’s team try against Italy during last season’s Six Nations is on the shortlist for World Rugby’s Try of the Year.

Jamie Heaslip was on hand to apply the finishing touch to a move that started in Ireland’s 22 and went through ten pairs of hands.

Ireland won the Six Nations encounter 58-15.

The effort is up against Kaito Shigeno’s try for Japan against Scotland in June.

TJ Perenara’s five-pointer for New Zealand against Argentina in the Rugby Championship is also on the list.

The shortlists for the prestigious World Rugby Player of the Year and World Rugby Women's Player of the Year for 2016 will be announced on 7 November.
