Hundreds of Munster and Shannon rugby club supporters lined the road outside Thomond Park as the remains of Munster head coach Anthony Foley made its way from Shannon airport to his home in Killaloe.
The Munster and Ireland legend died of an acute pulmonary oedema in Paris on Sunday.
Many club members of all ages wore their Shannon jerseys.
Shannon club officials marched silently beside the hearse as it passed slowly by.
The Shannon club's anthem 'There is an Isle' was sung as the hearse stopped briefly outside the stadium.
The crowd then applauded as the hearse moved on.
The hearse also passed by St Munchin's college where Foley went to school.
Hundreds more, many holding candles, lined the streets of Killaloe as the hearse made its way to the family home.
