Ireland centre Robbie Henshaw may make a timely comeback for Connacht against Enisei-STM in the Challenge Cup on Saturday (3pm).

The Athlone man has been out of action since November with a hand injury.

A Connacht statement read: “Pending a surgical review and sign-off on Friday, Ireland international Robbie Henshaw will be available to play.”

Connacht, for whom Kieran Marmion is also available, can still qualify for the knock-out stages but need other results to go their way.

Ireland coach Joe Schmidt will name his squad for the Six Nations this afternoon.

In-form centres Stuart McCloskey of Ulster and Garry Ringrose of Leinster are among those mentioned as likely call-ups.
