Cian Healy has been cited for an incident during Leinster's Champions Cup loss to Toulon on Sunday.
The Ireland prop was yellow-carded during the game for a clash with hooker Guilhem Guirado but the match citing commissioner, John Byett from England, subsequently made a complaint to European Professional Club Rugby.
A disciplinary hearing will take place in Paris on Thursday.
The sanction for 'striking an opponent with the knee' ranges from a ban of three weeks to a year.
Leo Cullen's side, beaten in all three of their games in the competition so far, host three-in-a-row champions Toulon in the return fixture at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
