VIDEO: Pat Lam: Munster v Connacht tie will be won on training ground

Connacht’s fate against Munster will be decided on the training field, according to coach Pat Lam.

The high-flying westerners, top of the Pro12 table, travel to Thomond Park on Saturday(5.15pm) looking for their first win there since 1986.

Lam, whose side beat Brive in the Challenge Cup last weekend, says it’s all about preparation for their meeting with a side who had last weekend off after the Champions Cup game against Stade Francais was postponed.

Lam said: “The outcome will be determined by the work that we do every day here. The confidence comes from the work we do day in, day out here at the Sportsground.

"We’re going down there with a lot of confidence. We understand it’s always been a tough fixture for us.

"We know Munster have had a week off and they are pretty fresh so everything we do is about playing rugby.

“We never look at records. What we look at is we have an opportunity this week, there’s four points on the line.

"It’s another game, another opportunity for us to play as a team."
