Luke Fitzgerald remains confident that Leinster can reach for the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup, despite making it two losses in two games with a 19-16 defeat away to Bath on Saturday.
That followed a 27-point thumping at home to Wasps first day out.
"It was a very tough weekend," the Ireland international back told RTÉ Sport.
"We got a couple of things out of the game that we wanted. We got a bit of a reaction after Wasps. But unfortunately it just wasn't good enough in the end.
"It obviously leaves us in a very tough position in terms of the group. We know from last year, having faced Bath in the quarter, that it's possible to get out of the group in this situation but we know we've made it very difficult for ourselves. It's definitely an uphill task.
"No-one here is under any illusion as to how difficult it's going to be but until it's impossible, we're going to believe we can do it"

"There's a while until the back-to-back against Toulon and a lot of rugby to be played. I'd like to think we can play ourselves into some good form between then and now, starting this weekend with a tough interpro [against Ulster]."
Leinster must face three-in-a-row European champions Toulon twice in seven days next month, though the all-conquering French side's aura was dimmed slightly when they suffered a similar beating at the hands of Wasps at the weekend, losing 33-6 in Coventry.
"Maybe Wasps have benefited from not having too many guys involved in the World Cup, their back-line especially," mused Fitzgerald.
"I think Toulon will get better and I believe we'll get better as well. It's hopefully going to be a very tight finish - that's what we're going to try and create anyway.
"I'm pretty confident in the group. I know we're in a pretty low place at the moment. I know a lot of people from the outside are giving us a bit of criticism and wondering where we're going but from our own perspective inside the group we're confident we can turn this around pretty quickly."
Meanwhile, Rob Kearney is progressing well in his recovery from a hamstring injury and looks on course to be fit for the Firday night’s game.
New Zealander Hayden Triggs is making a slow recovery from an ankle injury, while Richardt Strauss, Sean O'Brien and Mike McCarthy are undergoing head-injury assessment.
