Ireland begin their Rugby World Cup campaign against Canada on Saturday.

Many feel that Joe Schmidt can become the first Irish coach to guide this country beyond the quarter-finals following back-to-back Six Nations wins.

The New Zealander began his coaching career in Westmeath back in 1991 as a 24-year-old, starting off his first venture into management by laying groundwork for the Mullingar Rugby Football Club and a local secondary school.

RTÉ's Darren Frehill went to the Midlands to meet some of his former team-mates, including Mick Lynn and David Farrelly, and visit the Wilson's Hospital School he coached to success.
