VIDEO: Joe Schmidt's early days in Mullingar

Ireland begin their Rugby World Cup campaign against Canada on Saturday.

Many feel that Joe Schmidt can become the first Irish coach to guide this country beyond the quarter-finals following back-to-back Six Nations wins.  

The New Zealander began his coaching career in Westmeath back in 1991 as a 24-year-old, starting off his first venture into management by laying groundwork for the Mullingar Rugby Football Club and a local secondary school. 

RTÉ's Darren Frehill went to the Midlands to meet some of his former team-mates, including Mick Lynn and David Farrelly, and visit the Wilson's Hospital School he coached to success.
