Ulster have received a significant boost with the news that scrum-half Ruan Pienaar has signed a three-year deal with the province.

The 71-cap Springbok had recently been linked with a move to Top 14 side and European champions Toulon.

The 29-year old, who joined Ulster in 2010, said: “I am delighted to be staying at Ulster.

"I have really enjoyed my first three seasons at the Province and I am looking forward to helping the team compete for silverware in the coming years.”
