RTÉ Sport will show 11 live RaboDirect PRO12 matches in the first four months of season 2013/14, with ten of those matches set to be shown live on RTÉ Television.

All 11 will also be available to watch on RTÉ Digital Platforms including the RTÉ Sport website, the RTÉ Player, and on the Player App on mobile devices (iOS and Android).

The first live RTÉ match of the season, Scarlets v Leinster on Friday 6 September, will be broadcast online and mobile only - this is due to a clash with the Republic of Ireland v Sweden World Cup Qualifier on the same night.

Our selection includes five all-Irish derbies, including the early season highlight clash of Munster and Leinster on 5 October (also on RTÉ Two HD). See the note on match selection below for more.

The PRO12 takes a break from 9 to 24 November, during which RTÉ Sport will show all three of Ireland's November Internationals against Samoa, Australia and New Zealand on successive weekends.

Note on match selection: Television rights for the Rabo PRO12 in Ireland are divided between RTÉ, TG4 and BBC Northern Ireland.

RTÉ and TG4 each have the choice of one game per weekend, with each station alternately having first pick from one week to the next.

In this season’s opening 12 rounds, RTÉ had first pick in weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 (the picks for matches in the second half of the season will be made in November).

On some weekends, it can be impossible to fit a given match into the schedule and that inevitably leads to disappointment for supporters in some instances.

That is particularly true of away matches, when the date, kick-off time and match selection of broadcasters in Wales, Scotland and Italy are determined by the broadcast rights holders in those countries (BBC Wales and S4C, BBC Alba, and MediaSet).
