Heineken Cup man of the match Sean O'Brien was full of praise for the travelling Leinster fans

Heineken Cup final man of the match Sean O'Brien has hailed the Leinster supporters who cheered on the team to retain their European title.

Twickenham was almost at full capacity for yesterday’s ERC final and the Tullow man told RTÉ Sport: "The crowd are just unbelievable, they really get behind you. You can hear them and it spurs you on, a lot of credit goes to them."

O'Brien, who scored the first try in the 42-14 point win over Ulster, also said that the competition for starting places within the squad helped to forge a winning team.

"I am delighted with the win, we've another Heineken Cup. We are definitely going in the right direction," said O'Brien.

"Everyone within the whole squad, we know when we put on the blue jersey you have to play well or there’s someone else who will take your slot and that’s what made us so strong this year," added the 25-year-old.
