Connacht’s Amlin Challenge Cup Pool 1 match against Harlequins will go ahead tonight despite the poor weather in the region.
The Sportsground pitch was deemed playable this morning after an inspection by the grounds committee.
Earlier in the week Connacht took the precaution of spreading 80 bales of straw on the playing surface to protect it from the elements and the measures have proven successful.
The straw has been re-baled and lifted off the pitch and the game is going ahead as scheduled at 7:00pm.
