Ireland and Munster lock Paul O'Connell returned to action last night when he played the entire second half for Young Munster against local rivals Shannon at Thomond Park.
O'Connell was given a huge reception by the 4,000 crowd and he played a part in the games only try seven minutes from the end.
However it was Shannon who notched an 18-17 victory in the AIL clash.
O'Connell has been out of the game for some 250 days with a groin injury and could now feature for Munster this side of Christmas.
