Oldham half-back Matty Ashe flew to France with the Ireland squad today after receiving a late call-up for the Alitalia European Cup.
The 25-year-old New Zealander, whose paternal grandparents were born in Dublin, is set to make his full international debut in Saturday's opening game against the French in Avignon.
'It's a rush to get everything sorted out in time but I'm made up to be given this opportunity,' said Ashe.
