European Rugby Cup, the tournament organisers of the Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup, announced the officials for the semi-finals of both the Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup competitions on Wednesday.

Nigel Owens (Wales) has been appointed to referee the Toulouse v Leinster Heineken Cup semi-final tie. Owens was also the man in charge of 2009's Heineken Cup final between Leicester Tigers and Leinster. Owens also refereed the 2008 Heineken Cup final, when Munster triumphed over Toulouse. That tie will be played at Le Stadium, Toulouse, on Saturday, 1 May.

Dave Pearson (England) will take charge of the other Heineken Cup semi-final clash between Biarritz Olympique and Munster at Estadio Anoeta, San Sebastián, on Sunday, 2 May.

Wayne Barnes (England) will referee the Amlin Challenge Cup semi-final between Connacht Rugby and RC Toulon at the Sportsground on Friday, 30 April, with Romain Poite (France) in charge of the match between London Wasps and Cardiff Blues at Adams Park on Saturday, 1 May.
