Irish Colleges’ rugby was given a boost today with the announcement that Treasury Holdings has initiated an Irish Colleges Players of the Year Award to recognise outstanding merit and achievement in student rugby.
The award will be decided through voting by the coaches of each of the college teams participating in the Treasury Holdings Domestic Colleges Division One and Two Leagues.
The Player of the Year Award also follows the announcement that the Irish Colleges International Team, which is drawn from the colleges system, will play two International Fixtures.
Commenting on the announcement, Managing Director of Treasury Holdings John Bruder said: ‘The introduction of an Irish Colleges Players of the Year Award is a really positive development in Irish Colleges Rugby and we are delighted to support it. Treasury Holdings believe that this award will acknowledge the skill and hard work that the players put in at this level and recognise their commitment and dedication.’
