The climax of the AIB Cup and AIB Junior Cup have been handed a double header date on 30 January with the two finals scheduled to be held in Dubarry Park, Athlone, the home of Buccaneers RFC.

This will be the third year in a row that the midlands venue has hosted the AIB Cup Finals and this weekend's semi final matches will see who will make the cut for the New Year decider.

The AIB Cup this season saw last year's winners Ballynahinch knocked out in the second round by the very team they beat in last years final, Cork Constitution. The Cork side, who also won the inaugural AIB Cup in 2006, will play Ballymena away in Eaton Park.

The other AIB Cup semi final is an all Munster affair, with Dolphin at home to Garryowen as the two Division 1A teams play for a place in the Dubarry Park final.

The AIB Junior Cup semi finals also take place this weekend with Tullamore, the defending champions, aiming for a third final appearance in a row as they take on Armagh at home. Galway club Monivea play at home and are also looking to topple an Ulster side as they host City of Derry.
