Munster and Ireland prop John Hayes' appeal against his six-week ban for stamping during Munster's defeat to Leinster is to be heard tomorrow.
The suspension was imposed after Hayes received a red card for stamping on the head of Cian Healy during Munster's 30-0 loss to Leinster in their Magners League clash at the RDS on Saturday, 3 October. As it stands, it is due to run until 14 November.
The appeal hearing will take place at 5.30pm at the IRFU offices in Lansdowne Road.
The Appeal panel will consist of Billy Glynn, Chairman of the IRFU Appeals Committee. He will be assisted by Leo Galvin and George Spotswood. It is expected their decision will be released soon after the hearing ends.
Hayes has already missed Munster's defeat to Northampton in Round One of the Heineken Cup pool stage. Munster are due to play Treviso in Round Two this Saturday and if the appeal does not substantially reduce the ban, the tighthead prop will also miss that game.
Munster are also due to play Edinburgh (away) and Ulster (home), in the Magners League before the suspension ends.
Even if the appeal fails, Hayes will be able to play in Rounds Three (11-13 December) and Four (18-20 December) of the Heineken Cup, in which Munster will play crucial back to back matches against Perpignan.
He will also be available for Ireland's November International series, which is due to begin on 15 November with a Test match against Australia.
