Alan Quinlan has been included in the extended Munster squad for the Magners League match against Cardiff Blues at Thomond Park on Friday.
Quinlan has not featured for Munster since receiving a 12-week suspension for making contact with the eye area of Leo Cullen during Munster’s Heineken Cup semi-final defeat to Leinster at Croke Park last season.
That ban, which meant Quinlan missed this summer's Lions tour to South Africa, expires on Thursday.
John Hayes, who joined the Lions tour during the closing stages and played as a sub in the third Test, is also in this week's squad.
The squad will be reduced to 22 ahead of match day.
The Munster players who took part in the entire Lions tour, have yet to return to match day squads while hooker Jerry Flannery is still out with a calf injury.
