Galwegians 27-17 Highfield

Galwegians confirmed their place in the AIB Cup's third round with a deserved win over Highfield at Crowley Park.

Galwegians got one over on their former coach Paul Young, who is now in charge of Highfield, to set up a January clash with Nenagh Ormond.

A try from South African centre Chris Brigl helped the hosts to a 13-3 half-time lead.

Further touchdowns from Matt Brandon and Liam Casserly made it 27-3 but Highfield rallied with late tries from Peter Martin and Anthony Wise.
