Eddie O'Sullivan is to give his first televised interview since the end of his reign as coach of the Irish rugby team.

O'Sullivan will speak to RTÉ Journalist John Murray on the popular ‘One to One’ series.

The interview includes a frank discussion of what went wrong with the Irish rugby team during the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

During course of the interview, O'Sullivan will speak frankly about his World Cup preparation, saying: 'The preparations for the World up went drastically wrong and the decisions I made back-fired........the alarm bells went off for me before the World Cup when we had two warm-up games.

'If I had it back, re-wind the tape, give me the World Cup back again, I would have done it differently. I would have played four warm-up games, but the die was cast.'

O'Sullivan will also respond criticisms regarding his team selections and give his reasons for not changing his starting line-up more frequently.

The interview will be broadcast on Monday 10 November at 11.35pm and will be repeated on Sunday 16 November at 12.05pm.
