Shannon have been hit by the news that veteran out-half Mossy Lawlor is to move to Guinness English Premiership side Wasps for a three-month period.
The former Munster player has taken the opportunity to play professionally again after he wasn't offered a contract at the end of last season.
The 28-year-old is expected to make his debut in a Wasps jersey in an A game against Harlequins on Monday night and his time at the Adams Park club could be extended if he impresses.
Shannon have wished their long-term servant the best of luck with the move, and are confident he will return to playing in the blue and black hoped jersey whenever his cross channel career comes to an end.
